ADVNTG Feed Sorter Privacy Policy

ADVNTG Feed Sorter ("the extension") is a free Chrome extension made by ADVNTG (advntg.co). It sorts the posts on an Instagram profile by views, likes or comments. This policy explains what data the extension handles.

The short version

The extension does not collect, store, sell or share any personal data. Everything happens inside your own browser, and nothing is sent to ADVNTG or any third party.

What the extension accesses

  • Instagram content you choose to sort. When you click a Sort button, the extension requests post information (such as likes, comments, view counts, post dates, captions and thumbnails) from instagram.com for the profile you're viewing. It does this through your existing logged-in Instagram session in your browser, the same way Instagram's own website loads that information. The data is only used to show the ranked results on your screen, and it's discarded when you close the tab.
  • The address of the current tab. This is read only to work out which Instagram profile you're viewing.

What the extension stores

The extension saves only your preferences (time range, content type, a view-count display setting, and light or dark theme) using Chrome's local extension storage, so they're remembered next time. These preferences stay on your device and contain no personal information.

What the extension does not do

  • It does not collect your Instagram login, password, messages or account details.
  • It does not send any data to ADVNTG's servers or any other server. The only requests it makes go to instagram.com.
  • It does not use analytics, tracking, advertising or cookies of its own.
  • It does not sell, rent or transfer data to anyone.

CSV exports

If you use "Export CSV", the file is created in your browser and saved straight to your computer. ADVNTG never receives it.

Third parties

The extension talks to Instagram (operated by Meta Platforms, Inc.) on your behalf, using your own session. Instagram's handling of your data is covered by Instagram's Privacy Policy. ADVNTG Feed Sorter is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Instagram or Meta.

Children

The extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly handle data from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
